Information regarding academic year breaks with specific information for on-campus residents related to residence and dining hall closures.

Information for the 2026–27 Academic Year

Move Into the Residence Halls

Monday, August 22 and Thursday, August 25

  • First-year students: 9 a.m.–12 p.m.
  • Sophomores, juniors, seniors: 9 a.m.–12 p.m.

Long Weekend–First Semester

Thursday, October 9, 9:30 p.m.–Monday, October 12, 7:30 p.m.

  • The Residence Halls will remain open.
  • The Dining Hall will remain open and provide regularly scheduled meals.

Thanksgiving Break

Tuesday, November 24, 6 p.m.–Monday, November 30, 9 a.m.

  • The Residence Halls will remain open.
  • The Dining Hall and Coffee Shop will be closed. Students who remain on campus will be responsible for making their own meal arrangements.

Winter Break

Thursday, December 17, 9:30 p.m.–Monday, January 11, 9 a.m.

  • The Residence Halls will close at 12 p.m. on Saturday, December 19 and reopen at 12 p.m. on Saturday, January 9.
  • Students may remain in their Residence Halls during break at the cost of $175 per week. Reservations and payment are weekly—no adjustment to the fee for partial weeks. More information and a registration form will be sent to students in November.
  • The Dining Hall and Coffee Shop will be closed. Students who remain on campus will be responsible for making their own meal arrangements.

Long Weekend-Second Semester

Thursday, February 4, 9:30 p.m.–Monday February 8, 7:30 p.m.

  • The Residence Halls will remain open.
  • The Dining Hall will remain open and provide regularly scheduled meals.

Spring Break

Thursday, March 4, 9:30 p.m.–Monday, March 22, 9 a.m.

  • The Residence Halls will close at 12 p.m. on Saturday, March 1 and reopen at 12 p.m. on Saturday, March 22.
  • Students may remain in their Residence Halls during break at the cost of $175 per week. Reservations and payment are weekly—no adjustment to the fee for partial weeks. More information and a registration form will be sent to students in mid-February.
  • The Dining Hall and Coffee Shop will be closed. Students who remain on campus will be responsible for making their own meal arrangements.

Move Out of the Residence Halls

Saturday, May 15

  • Students must vacate the Residence Halls by 6 p.m. on Saturday, May 15.
  • Dining Hall service ends with dinner on Friday, May 14.
